M4: Metadata

Metadata is data that describes and gives you information about other data. Metadata can be manually by the creator of the products or it can be produced automatically by a type of software on the device. One of the main reasons why people use this is so it is quick to access data when people need it and it is my efficient one trying to find a document, if your files are unorganised. This also allows photographers to add copyright to images to stop people climbing them as their own without paying or asking for permission. The different data within the metadata conclude the author of the work the file size the date and time it was created.

EXIF Data, Exchangeable Image File Format, is the basics of meta data which is  related then stored automatically by camera whenever you go to take a photo. EXIF date is the technical data such as the equipment that is used to take the photo and the time the photo was taken. However, IPTC is the more variant of the two because it is its main focus of the content as well as the rights So it doesn’t get copyrighted so people know who owns the photo. IPTC can be sued with photographers, news organisations, distributors and more
